I’ve been bursting to share this gorgeous coastal wedding gallery. Sun, sea and beautiful light. My happy place.
As second shooter for the fabulously talented Rafe Abrook, I was called in specifically to cover bridal preparations (at the couple’s request – they wanted a female photographer for bridal prep, and, as committed as Rafe is to his work, I’m guessing that was a negotiation too far) and oh. My. Word. What a treat.
Romantic, secluded, coastal weddings don’t get much better than Polhawn Fort in Cornwall. Bridal parties hire the entire fort and, set in its own grounds with its own private beach, you’re absolutely guaranteed the wedding of your making.
Not going to lie, I was nervous as heck. Rafe’s photography is sublime, and being called in for bridal prep meant the pressure was well and truly on. I needed to get shots that he’d be proud to include in the final gallery, and shots that the couple would want to include in their album.
And then. The light in the bridal dressing room was perfect. The bridal party were the loveliest, friendliest, warmest group, and I was in photo heaven.
Dad’s first look made me blah. The speeches made me blah. And those couple shots…
Thanks Rafe. More of the same please.
Edit: Delighted to see this wedding featured on Space and Rock – have a look for more of Rafe’s and my photos of the day.
