South Farm Wedding Photography | Sophie + Matt
I always love shooting at South Farm and Sophie and Matt’s wedding was absolutely no exception.
Fun, friendly, and just genuinely lovely people, with the best crowd of friends and family, I was instantly welcomed into the fold and slotted straight in to shooting their day.
Here’s a few highlights from their gallery, with some lovely words from Sophie and Matt at the end too.
It’s easy to love shooting weddings at South Farm. It’s eco-friendly and sustainable, with incredible home-grown produce and beautiful grounds. The team at the wedding venue near Royston on the Hertfordshire / Cambridgeshire border are fabulous and you know they’ll go above and beyond to look after each and every couple and their guests. The bonus is… everything is self-contained.
With space for both parties to get ready on site, it means I can easily flit between both of the ‘getting ready’ rooms to capture both sides of the pre-wedding preparations.
My approach to wedding photography is to document your day, to give you a story (or gallery) with a start, a middle and an end.
Being able to float between the prep rooms and the ceremony location means I can capture the start of each South Farm wedding story in its entirety, helping to tell the story of the day as it unfolds.
The house and grounds are instantly recognisable, with the photo-worthy driveway and the iconic South Farm blue door.
South Farm weddings cater for indoor as well as outdoor ceremonies, with the twinkly fairy lights adding extra magic to the rustic Tudor Barn.
Love this little wave from Sophie on the aisle. Just gorgeous.
So often I’m struck, not only by the absolute priviledge it is to be invited, and trusted, to capture magical wedding stories, but also by how many wonderful human beings I get to meet in the process.
Soph and Matt are warm, welcoming, fun and easy going and it’s easy to see why their friends and family clearly love them as much as they do.
South Farm’s self-contained grounds means your couple’s portraits needn’t take over your day. Sneaking off for a few quick photos of the two of you need only take 15-20 minutes – a stroll up the driveway and through the beautiful gardens and meadow, then back to your guests for drinks and South Farm’s epic food.
Mini-stories like these make my documenary heart sing…
The incredible License to Ceilidh band kicked things off. Out-blummin-standing.
Thank you Soph + Matt for welcoming me and trusting me with your day and your memories. Truly grateful. x
Jo photographed our wedding and was absolutely brilliant.
We are not really ‘photo people’ so were nervous about being in front of the camera but Jo put us at ease and made the whole thing so enjoyable and relaxed.
She offered a pre-wedding shoot where we could get to know her and get used to being in front of the camera which was so helpful.
Her communication and organisation throughout was perfect.
On our wedding day, Jo was amazing. She was calm and positive, totally lovely to have around, and got all the shots we wanted.
It was the perfect balance of being there when we needed her and blending into the background so we never felt exposed.
Our wedding photos are exactly what we were hoping for, and more. They capture the feeling of the day and we absolutely loved looking through them afterwards, we saw so many little bits that we didn’t even realise were happening on the day. They’re so good!
I genuinely feel really lucky to have found her for our big day, and 1000% recommend her!”
