Hertfordshire Engagement Photoshoot

Everything about this Hertfordshire engagement photoshoot makes me happy. Fun couple. Gorgeous location. Fabulous backdrops. Pretty pictures. So much love.

Olivia and Lucas booked their engagement, or pre-wedding shoot as part of their wedding photography package. It’s a service I offer that I wholeheartedly recommend. Apart from being tons of fun, engagement sessions are a fabulous way for us to get to know each other before the big day, to shake off any pre-wedding camera jitters and, of course, for couples to get some epic portraits before the big day I-dos.

This photoshoot took place just a short drive from St.Albans, right in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside. We were truly spoilt for incredible backdrops – I’m a big fan of ruins and the church ruins here did not disappoint. Combined with open fields and an impressive classical Palladian church, we had lots of fun exploring and creating a really varied gallery of images.  

For a couple who’ve never had professional photos taken, this gorgeous pair were total naturals in front of the camera, and as prologues to the big occasion go, this shoot was pretty special.

Ever hopeful of catching some of the pretty light around golden hour, we’d arranged an evening shoot. Whilst the cloud gods were against us, we were at least grateful that the rain held off. And besides, cloud isn’t such a bad thing. Take a look – I’m certainly not complaining.
