St. Albans Micro Wedding Photography

The Gatehouse at St Albans (St. Albans Registry Office) is fast-becoming a popular venue for couples seeking a small, relaxed and intimate wedding day.
Less formal than a church or a grand house, with scope to plan the rest of the day to suit yourselves, the team at St.Albans Register office are friendly, easy-going, professional and welcoming.

Over the years, I’ve photographed couples tying the knot at the Gatehouse, before heading off for their reception at local pubs, restaurants and hotels.
A selection of some recent St.Albans weddings
Julie and Calum had a small wedding at St Albans Regitsry Office with their closest family there to cheer them on, and shower them with confetti.

We usually always manage to fit in some post-ceremony portraits, whether it’s ambling through the historic cobbled streets and catherdral grounds, nearby park locations, or the Gatehouse grounds.
The Gatehouse grounds themselves can also be used for post-ceremony portraits, as well as confetti in front of the iconic black doors.

Confetti commitment! Look at the air this bridesmaid gets. What an absolute treasure!

Joanna and Matt were married at St.Albans Registry Office before an intimate lunch at Lussmans.

In the midst of Covid, Claudia and John’s St. Albans wedding was a small, intimate and personal celebration.

After a year of lockdowns pausing wedding photography, their micro-wedding was a welcome splash of joy and colour, with Claudia arriving in style in a bright red, open top Alfa Romeo Spider, confetti outside the iconic St. Albans Registry Office Gatehouse doors and portraits amidst the wildflowers and poppies at nearby Napsbury Park.

Jo photographed our wedding. We were so impressed that she managed to capture us all beautifully although we aren’t all naturals at being photographed, and she captured some amazing moments which we will treasure forever. We had a very small wedding, just immediate family, and Jo made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed. She managed to capture our day perfectly, with a mixture of candid and posed photos. Jo’s website also allowed us easy access to the photos where we could create and share a digital library, she also posted a short blog of our wedding which we thought was a very special touch. We had a separate husband and wife photoshoot at Napsbury Park after the ceremony, where Jo scouted out several nice places for photos.
We would heartily recommend Jo to anyone looking for a professional wedding photography service, who can listen to your needs and capture your day!

Napsbury Park was the ideal spot for Claudia and John’s portraits session. With just twenty minutes spare before they needed to hotfoot it to Sopwell House for their celebratory afternoon tea – and with Claudia sporting an incredible pair of white platform heels – we needed a location with a variety of backdrops and settings, all in easy walking distance.
With its wildflower verges, green pathways and wooded copses, Napsbury Park near London Colney was exactly what we needed.
Claudia and John, thank you for trusting me to capture your special day. As a wedding photographer suffering wedding withdrawal symptoms from all the Covid lockdown restrictions, it was just the tonic I needed.
