You’ll receive 8 professionally edited images delivered in high resolution jpeg (digital) format via your own private online gallery (you’ll have a password to login).

In addition to your digital images you’ll also receive an 8 x 12 print (you’ll choose this from your gallery).

If you wish to upgrade your shoot, you’ll have the option to purchase additional images and prints direct from your gallery. Additional digital images are £10 per file. 

I’ll be following government guidelines so at present up to 5 people could attend the shoot (I’ll be the sixth person in the group – don’t worry – I won’t be in your photos!)

Of course. Scamp the dog, Trevor the tortoise – if you have a family pet who you want in the photos bring them along – just let me know first. 

I’ll let you know the shoot location on payment of your balance. I’ll be scouting suitable locations in the week or so before to find the best spot with the best light and the best spring colours. Typically this would be within a 10 mile drive of Hitchin.

We’ll head for a short walk and stop off at suitable locations for some organised family portraits. In between these organised moments I’ll capture as much candid documentary photography as possible. Please don’t worry about looking at me unless I ask you to. In fact it’s always best if you can try and forget I’m there and just concentrate on being together – my job is to capture as much of you together naturally.

Mini shoots are short photoshoots designed to capture a small set of photos in a short amount of time. You’ll receive 8 images as part of your mini-package and you can choose to purchase more when you receive your gallery.

A regular family photoshoot is a longer, more free-flow session and is custom-made for each family. Families have a choice of location and the longer shoot duration means we can capture more natural moments than in a mini-shoot session. Clients booking my regular family shoot packages receive more images as part of their package – ‘unscripted’ regular family shoot package receive the full gallery of images. Find out more about regular family shoots here. 

Images are supplied via an online, password protected gallery. You can expect to receive your gallery within 4 weeks of your shoot, with a smaller, sneak peak gallery within 10 days.

Bring a brolly and let’s embrace the great British weather! I’ll happily shoot through light rain and drizzle, but I’m realistic about kids’ (and my camera’s) tolerance to downpours. I’ll keep an eye on the forecast and if a monsoon is headed our way I’ll take a call about reschedule options.

Please only attend if all members of your group are well and healthy. If any member of your group is unwell or showing signs of Covid-19 coronavirus, please message me on 07769 652145 or email jo@quintessentialphotography.co.uk as soon as possible. As a small independent business, I kindly ask that if you’ll be unable to attend your shoot for any reason, you please let me know as soon as possible so that I can try and fill your slot.

In the event that government or local lockdown restrictions prevent your mini-shoot from taking place, in the event that your party is in self isolation or quarantine, or in the event that I am ill or unable to attend, you will be offered the option of re-booking your shoot at an alternative mutually convenient time, or a full refund of monies paid.

On reserving your photoshoot a £10 booking deposit is payable, with the balance (£65) due 7 days before your shoot. Other than in respect of the circumstances set out above, you may cancel your shoot at any time, but in doing so will forfeit your booking deposit and, should you cancel with less than one week before your shoot, you also agree to pay the balance of the full shoot fee – unless I can fill your slot, in which case I will provide you with a full refund.
