Outdoor family photoshoots near Hitchin don’t get much better than this. Natural, fun photos in the woods with gorgeous happy smiles and beautiful autumn colour thrown in for good measure.

I’ve known this lovely family for almost three years – I first met them for a family shoot on Fairfield Park between Stotfold and Hitchin in spring 2018 and we’ve met for family photos every year since. I’ve even captured their super cute kittens, Sooty and Sweep with their own dedicated pet photoshoot.

Getting to know my family clients by watching and documenting them grow up together is one of the absolute joys of being a family photographer. Being invited back into their lives to record precious family moments is privilege I don’t take for granted and it’s the best, and most genuine endorsement anyone could give of my work.

I always encourage my clients to print their photos if they can. To frame them and put them on the wall to cheer up a dreary grey February afternoon – and as a daily reminder of fun times, happy times – and what it means to be a family. Now, more than ever, having special photos to give us that virtual feel-good rush of family love as we pass them on the wall in the hall, or they catch our eye on the fireplace is something to be truly appreciated.

I know that the photos from this latest shoot will take pride of place in this family’s home. I know this because at every shoot the children tell me about which photos they’ve had printed from the time before. It’s clear how much it means to them to have themselves decorate their walls. It fills me with such joy and pride that in my own little way I’m able to help families remember the good times, and more than anything I just love how excited the children are that their big smiles are valued, treasured and cherished so much.
